Celebrating 75 Years of Extraordinary Books at Extraordinary Value Dover: A Timeline of Excellence & Innovation |
|
In 1941, Hayward and Blanche Cirker had a simple yet ingenious idea: reprint long-unavailable and expensive hardcover books in affordable paperback editions. Since they planned on working out of their apartment building — The Dover House, in Forest Hills, New York — they christened their new company Dover Publications.
Now, seventy-five years later, Dover is one of America's most respected publishing house, offering more than 10,000 books across dozens of subject categories. From our world famous Thrift Editions of classic literature to Creative Haven® coloring books for adults, Dover continues to build on the Cirker's legacy of excellence and innovation.
Join in on our anniversary celebration by sharing a personal story about why you love Dover and you could win a bounty of free books — Visit contest page. |
